The Solution

TBS investigated the potential environmental impact of a plan to relocate a pipeline near Krotz Springs on both sides of the Atchafalaya River. Construction required coordination between local, state, and federal agencies in the procurement of exploration, dredging, and drilling permits. TBS monitored construction progress and recommended mitigation plans for sections of uplands and wetlands, which included the replanting of bottomland hardwoods on- and off-site as well as bank restoration along the Atchafalaya River. TBS concluded by monitoring vegetative survival in the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area after the first complete growing season.
