The Challenge

The roadways in Grand Isle, LA were in need of repair and resurfacing after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, and Ike due to storm surge and inundation. After initial inspections, FEMA allocated $350K to repair all road damage.

The Solution

TBS, along with GOHSEP and TOGI, re-inspected the roads and prepared a damage assessment report. Following the report, FEMA and CDBG increased the allocation to $6.2 million to repair and resurface approximately 20 miles of locally owned roadways. TBS performed roadway visual inspections, prepared damage assessment report, topographic surveying, roadway design, environmental permitting, and construction administration for the mill and overlay of approximately 20 miles of locally owned roads.
