The Challenge
St. Tammany Parish and the Greater Covington area were experiencing major flooding due to the frequent rise of the Bogue Falaya River.
The Solution
TBS performed hydrologic and hydraulic modeling as well as topographic surveying services of the 85,000-acre Bogue Falaya drainage basin in an effort to develop an engineering solution to lessen flooding impacts to St. Tammany Parish and the Greater Covington area. The solution includes potential channel improvements and master planning a series of regional detention ponds located at strategic locations throughout the Bogue Falaya drainage basin.
