Private and public entities are continuously generating great ideas for improving our standard of living. Yet, our landscape is becoming more crowded and complex. Great ideas often run into schedule delays and cost overruns when governments, landowners, and other groups seek to protect their interests in shared resources.
We believe that we can have it all; continuous improvement to the human built environment and the natural environment. We believe that protecting people, improving businesses, and conserving nature's gifts for our children should not be separated. We believe in a long term outlook, where compliance, sustainability, and stewardship are not costs, but a profitable business strategy.
| Survey - T. Baker Smith, LLC (TBS) has been a leader of professional surveying services since its founder conducted the first reconstruction of the federal government's original surveys of south Louisiana in the 1920's. Today, this documentation remains a guide for much of the land and water surveying conducted in the region in recent decades.
Our professional teams of registered professional land surveyors and field technicians combine proven surveying practices with the most advanced technology available to exceed the surveying needs of an array of clients. Effective use of tools such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and digital mapping allow us to provide you with maps of precision layered with user specified information that will follow your project from concept to completion. And our services don't end there.
| Geophysical - Whether your project requires single beam bathymetry or multibeam modeling, our professionals can provide a solution for your specific hydrographic survey needs. TBS has the in house capability to inspect seafloor conditions in a way that goes above and beyond standard survey methods. Highly trained crews specialize in interpretation of bottom conditions as well as creating detailed models of river, lakes, bays or the ocean bottom.
Hydrographic vessels are outfitted with the latest technology to conduct surveys and inspections in water depths up to 1,000 feet. Our professionals are capable of interpreting, generating and producing your deliverables from field and office locations. We can present you with detailed maps, digital imagery and video graphics.
| Engineering - Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental
TBS is capable of managing your project from planning and design, through construction and operation. This includes permit coordination, right-of-way acquisition, feasibility reports, preparation of documents necessary to obtain public funds, and research and analysis of special design features. Also, our engineering staff can assist clients with advertising and evaluation of construction bids, the awarding of construction contracts and contract administration, not to mention providing on-site quality assurance supervision during construction.
| Construction Management - Once the engineers are done with design, the Construction Management professionals at TBS help clients coordinate the building of their projects. Our professionals can help you through the bidding and contract process, as well as monitor the contractor to make sure your project is being constructed as per the specifications and within the projected timeline.
| Marine Positioning - T. Baker Smith, LLC's decades of experience can help you position yourself for success. Marine construction and positioning applications are challenging; the ability to position a rig, install a pipeline, or perform cable installation can be compromised by everything from water depth to working in adverse weather conditions.
TBS' marine positioning services provide an extensive GIS and AutoCAD database of onshore, shelf and offshore wells, pipeline and platform data, and hazard locations. TBS has over 90 years of MMS archives, LEXCO Offshore Well and Lease Database (OWL) information, and offshore hazard surveys. We are proud of our technological leadership position in performing pipeline installations, rig positioning, hydrographic surveys, and deep ocean archaeological services using dynamically and non-dynamically positioned vessels.
