BOEMRE Update 2
T. Baker Smith wants to help our clients stay up to date on the changes coming from BOEMRE.
Guidance is being developed for Notice to Lessees (NTL) No. 2010-N05 and N06. With the regulations set by these NTLs being somewhat stringent and more importantly very new to operators, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and BOEMRE have been attempting to detail out what is expected of operators in their reports and permits.

BOEMRE Updates from TBS - Update #3 -
Many changes have been implemented within the past few weeks. Industry was prepared for most of them as reflected in recent reports and guidance documents. Thankfully, many operators are continuing to drill offshore by sidetracking from existing locations, circumventing some of the new regulations and avoiding the de facto moratorium in shallow waters. Following the plugging of the well, the response to the Macondo/Deepwater Horizon release is entering the next stage, and Federal and State trustees for natural resources are beginning restoration planning efforts.
