T. Baker Smith, Inc. Makes Engineering News- Record’s Top 500 Design Firms List
|
Each year in April, Engineering News-Record (ENR) ranks the 500 largest engineering, architectural and environmental design firms. T. Baker Smith, Inc. (TBS) is proud to announce that for the first time, the firm has been ranked. TBS is number 435 in ENR’s Top 500 design firms.
President and CEO Kenneth Smith comments, “This is something that we as a company are excited about. For a privately-held, family-owned company to be one of only 5 companies in Louisiana to make the Top 500 is a testament of hard work and dedication through the 94 years we’ve been in business. It’s been about learning and changing and finding the right people who come onboard and “make things happen”. We still offer “service with a personal touch”, but we have developed a broad client market that spans from local developers to oil and gas exploration companies to municipalities to the state and federal government.”
Smith goes on to say, “When I think of all the challenges the company faced since my grandfather founded it in 1913, I’m just amazed at where the firm has been and where we are. Two World Wars, the Great Depression, the decline of the oil industry, Katrina, and still this firm, headquartered in Houma, Louisiana, keeps working with our clients, addressing their unique needs, and keeps growing. TBS is regional. We serve the entire Gulf Coast Region, and just this month, we had open houses for bigger offices in Baton Rouge and Houston, Texas.
TBS helps clients plan, design, build, and operate their projects. The firm has 200 professionals and support staff in 7 offices, providing environmental, onshore, nearshore and offshore surveying, engineering design, construction and project management services, and mapping services. Engineering News-Record is the premier industry magazine providing news, analysis, commentary and data to industry professionals. The magazine has more than 70,000 paid subscribers.
