In 1913, when engineering graduate T. Baker Smith, C.E. founded the professional services firm that now bears his name, his home of Terrebonne Parish in Louisiana had no paved streets, the Mississippi River and Bayou Lafourche still swelled their banks during spring flooding, and the oil and gas industry was embarking on an amazing journey.
